A rolled-up TV in a box seems pretty weird at first... This is dope tech with potential! This is the LG OLED TV R.
Alternate title - The LG Rollable OLED TV: March Rollout? 😵

You mentioned your wallpaper TV. Could you talk about it a little or perhaps post a pic on your Instagram page?

This is a game changer if it's going to be priced the same as any other flagship from the start. 1. No more dust buildup. 2. No more moving out troubles. 3. Tax evasion if you'd wish to ship it abroad. (for a while least) 4. Possibly no more aspect ratio annoyance. 5. Makes you feel like a Bond Villain every time you want to use it.

Its cool, but I dont want a big box in a minimal living room. A hanging on a wall is my thing.

I LOVE the idea - I live in a studio apartment, and will probably never live in a very large one. Most apartments in my price range seem to have very odd floorplans with no real place to put a TV, so one that can just roll down would be AMAZING. Of course, the fact that I can't afford a nicer apartment doesn't bode well for my ability to afford a rollable OLED TV... But maybe in a few years? Or, like, ten? 😬

Its cool. BUT what if the motors that roll up and down the tv break? Which they will eventually. It will cost soo much money to fix. I think there should also be a manual way to rollup the tv like a contingency plan. If not then this tv is pointless and only stupid people (Sheep's) will buy this.

They need to sort the top of the aluminium box - it'll reflect the image. Its the same on the LG OLED C7 I have; I had to vinyl wrap the top of the stand in stippled matt black vinyl to reduce the glare.

Marques you know it has other good sides one of them you actually can move your TV or take it with you without any issues . . . and if they make it built in android TV system that will be more valued than almost every other TV

I was wondering if you could review a USB endoscope! They seem pretty nifty and useful as they allow an up close look of things! They seem to be pretty cheap(like 10-15$ at walmart) and can be hooked up to an iphone/split screen via computer or phone. You can demonstrate it like say looking at pipes, crevices, or even be silly and show it in your nose/ears/throat/face(doctors use these cams!) XD Just something small and inexpensive! :)

CrazyWedz 2 days ago
Very cool from a technological standpoint. But really not the least bit practical. It's simply show-off tech. Why anyone would want something that's so thin on a wall to roll up into big clunky box is anyone's guess.

It has interesting pros and cons. LG could make the TV detect the correct aspect ratio and auto-adjust. It looks good and minimal. It has the nice half-screen mode presenting useful information. Some cons: it introduces the possibility of mechanical failure. Screen durability with real word usage is another thing. And waiting for the screen to roll up is definitely not as convenient as a tradicional TV just switching on.

I'm pretty sure that all the panel is on (addressable ) when in media mode they don't bother dynamically resetting the screen size , but that would be a neet idea

I just wonder about the chances for dead pixels, or the screen getting more and more bent(wavy) if you leave it down for too long, too many times.

This would be great for people who do not want a big black screen dominating their living rooms. The a room can be for conversation and then TV viewing when they want it. Plus, it looks pretty cool.
Yash.0 3 days ago
If you're throwing a party, you could play music from the sound bar and just have the little screen pop up so you see what song it is, and not have the whole tv. That would be neat.
