In a battle of game plans, Nets head coach Kenny Atkinson's direction allowed D'Angelo Russell, Spencer Dinwiddie, and Caris LeVert to control the action against the "more talented" Philadelphia 76ers. There's still a Ben Simmons problem, and they'd better figure out an adjustment soon.

The 76ers are doomed. They will not win this series at all. They may get swept honestly. Ben Simmons and jj reddick are liabilities on offense and defense. Jimmy butler will get frustrated quickly and begin to take over games alone. Ben Simmons need to prioritize his shooting in the off-season and every season until he is done with basket ball. This myth that you do not need to shoot to be a great play is like finding the yeti. People say it exists but still have not seen proof of it. The Sixers may fire Brett Brown after this season if they lose game 2 because its his job to fix this mess. The Nets are back again. Last time I was this excited for them was when Jason Kidd was their point guard. Their future is very bright and its great for the NBA.....

If they exposed them so badly it should've been easy for them to replicate that game 2 what happened?? the guy I bet you think (or now thought) was a liability decided to turn it up and show everyone how important he is when he plays aggressive like that on both ends id go as far as to say Ben's a top 10 player when he decides to lock in and take over games

Lmaoo people actin surprised like this didn't happen last post season. Be Simmons is NOT a point guard. People gotta stop tryna make it seem that way. Draymond Green is a better "point guard" than simmons and even he know to step back and let a real point guard lead the team.

Trenity 10 days ago
The Sixers major weakness is guards. But overall the process is a TOTAL bust. Nerlens, Okafor, Dario, Fultz. All high draft picks and all were busts. Add in Timothe Luwawu, Furkan, Willy Hernan, Richaun Holmes, Arturas Gudaitis, KJ McDaniels, Jerami Grant, Russ Smith, Vasilije Micic, On and on and on and on. All are busts. Joel Embiid is the only hope but he can't play a full schedule at his size. Ben Simmons can't shoot and gets silenced by teams in the playoffs. He got booed in the Nets loss and spoke his true feelings but then PR got in his ear to fix it wit the fans. Harris and Butler will sign elsewhere and no top free agent will want to come to Philly so they will overpay for who's left. They needed to get Paul George not Jimmy Butler. They needed to trade Ben Simmons for Anthony Davis while they had the chance. They needed to trade the farm for Trae Young during the draft. Keep Harris if you want at the SM spot in that lineup. Can you say buckets!
Manuel Encalada
Manuel Encalada 10 days ago
I think the Sixers won't make it to the Finals unless Brett Brown changes his coaching and they FULLY give Simmons the keys to the offense. Butler consumes a lot of the playmaking duties, and Brown has not adjusted to keep Simmons engaged. In my opinion, Butler has to go. He doesn't fit. Simmons needs to be their full time playmaker and then you will see even more out of Tobias Harris if he stays.

The 76ers has a lot of advantages as well as disadvantages depending on the team they're facing. They should have a coach that can handle it, Brett Brown has been out-coached throughout the playoffs.

DatreformedGuy88 11 days ago
How do you join the NBA with no jumpshot as a point guard. More importantly what is he doing the whole time while training, an average guy would have a jumpshot by training a few hours a day. By now I think it's a psychological barrier for him, if he keeps this up. That will be the defining reason he gets traded, if he don't learn, he will be a bench player. Worse they will do him like Melo, even tho Melo can buy you a basket with a jumpshot.

Embiid is playing hurt & Simmons had no real impact. Philly were really flat & I donโ€™t think the home fans booing helped them! DeAngelo Russell shot poorly in the 1st half but the 76ers couldnโ€™t take advantage. Mike Scottโ€™s defence was dreadful in this game - Nets players just blew straight past him all day like he was a statue! Caris LeVert & Spencer Dinwiddie were awesome. If Joe Harris had pulled up a few times and taken a mid range jumper rather than trying to drive all the way into the paint, then this game would have been over by halftime.

You forgot Ed Davis with 28 EFR, best on the Nets today, and Levert 2nd with 21EFR (and he didn't even start the 2nd half. Nets could have won this game by 20+.
Escapable Entropy
Escapable Entropy 10 days ago
+N Marbletoe Ed Davis always had massive potential but he was buried on the depth charts in Portland. The Nets acquiring him for essentially nothing was a huge acquisition. The only knock on Davis is his FT shooting and perimeter game. However, he knows his role and won't hurt you by trying to play outside of his abilities. I love glue guys like him who box out, play D, and clean up the glass on both sides. Remember when the Cavs won a chip Tristan Thompson did a lot of those things. Talentwise Ed Davis is not that different than Thompson but he does the same things without needing a 70-80 million dollar contract. He is an old school PF. The NBA needs more guys like that. This stretch 4, fad can sink a team in the playoffs.
Escapable Entropy
Escapable Entropy 10 days ago
+N Marbletoe Playoff games are often won by performances like this. I watch the Nets and I know they can find many ways to win. Consider this. D-Lo started 1-9 from the field. Allen was in foul trouble, and Harris didn't even get hot from the floor. Also note Atkinson made a big blunder by not starting Levert in the 2nd half and played Dudley way too much. If the Nets had a better coach they would have won this game by 20+ as I said. Ed Davis is an absolute monster on the glass, excellent defender and a smart player positionally. His impact cannot be overlooked. Guys who play their roles and don't miss shots or turn the ball over WIN playoff games.
